Mr. Douglas Pate, passed away, Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Scotland Regional Hospice in Laurinburg, NC, surrounded by his loving family. 

Born October 29, 1939 he was a son of the late Willie Howard and Geneva Geddings Pate. He was a former mechanic at Oak River. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and a member of the Marlboro Masonic Lodge #88 A.F.M.. He loved to fish, hunt, spend time with his family, and visit the sick and shut ins.

He is survived by his wife Mary Frances Sweatt Pate; daughter, Phyllis Ann Pate Gentry of Winston Salem, NC; brother, William Alexander Pate of Laurel Hill, NC; sisters, Fonda Pate of Bennettsville, SC, and Latonna Lord (David) of Blenheim, SC; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents listed above; his sons Douglas Stevie Pate and Michael Howard Pate; brothers, William Howard Pate, Jr. and Keller Pate; sisters, Willie Bee Pate Sanders and Minnie Lee Pate Pruitt Winters

A Memorial Service with Masonic Rites is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Bennettsville with Pastor Barbara Webster officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. just prior to the service.
