Mr. George Edward “Ed” Coxe, age 81, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017, peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born October 13, 1935 he was the son of the late Raymond Israel and Nora Mills Coxe. He was a 1953 graduate of Bennettsville High School. He served 8 years in the National Guard. He was a member of Bennettsville Second Baptist Church and owner and operator of Ed’s Garage in Bennettsville.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Sherrer Coxe of the home; daughter, Pamela Cooper and husband Jimmy of Columbia, SC; brother, Raymond Lavon Coxe of Juneau, Alaska; sister, Jane Coxe Sewell of Martinez, GA.; sister-n-law, Dianne Butler of Simpsonville, SC; brother-in-law, Jimmy Sherrer and wife Debbie of Raleigh, NC; a special sister-n-law, Edna Sherrer of Bennettsville; grandchildren, Alexa Cooper and Jacob Cooper; special nieces and nephews; also his very loved cats, Baby Cat, Palin, Fred, and Cat Head.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Burroughs & Cooper Funeral Home in Bennettsville, officiated by Pastor Barbara Webster and Rev. Denny Costner. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Burroughs & Cooper Funeral Home.
