Chief Petty Officer Junious Elmore Parker, U. S. Navy (Retired), age 91, of Hartswood Terrace passed away February 8, 2017.
Junious was born in Chesterfield Co., SC to the late James and Nellie Lowery Parker. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Anthony Parker. He served his country in the United States Navy and was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War, retiring after 20 years of service as a Chief Petty Officer. Junious was a member of Great Bridge Baptist Church and a member of Norview Masonic Lodge #113 AF and AM.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 65 years, Juanita Nolan Parker; daughters, Phyllis P. Jenkins (Sid), Paula P. Picklesimer and Peggy S. Rawls; grandchildren, Olivia and Leah Jenkins, Emily, Kasey and William Picklesimer, and Philip Walker.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Thomas Memorial Baptist Church from 11:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. with funeral services immediately following at 12 noon. The Rev. Mike Williams and Pastor Bryan Crouch will officiate. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Burroughs & Cooper Funeral Home.
