Mr. Christopher Joseph Aubrie, 26, passed away, Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at his residence in Charlotte, NC. Chris was born in Waterbury, CT on November 30, 1991.
Christopher at an early age realized that hard work could offer him all the opportunities life had to offer. After graduating from Marlboro Academy in 2010, Christopher enrolled at Winthrop University where he continued to excel in his academics and leadership skills until he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business in 2014. He served as vice president and then president of the student body. He was chair of the Council of Student Leaders and the student government organization. Christopher was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, the Leadership Council, the ENACTUS (an organization that teaches the principles of free enterprise), and TRiO (an academic support program).
After graduating, Chris started his career as a Client Support Analyst for Surgical Information Systems in Alpharetta, Ga. He was currently employed as Account Manager, Technology at Kforce, Inc. in Charlotte, NC. Outside of work he was an avid golfer, loved to travel.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: parents, Ronald and Orlah Rumrey King of Bennettsville; brothers, Timothy James King of Lake Worth, Fl, Ethan King and wife Celene Guzman-King of Atlanta, GA; sister, Karissa Wilson and husband Jeremy of Augusta, GA; nephews, Eli Guzman-King, Arlo Guzman-King, Benjamin Wilson and niece, Anna Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, May 4, 2018 at Burroughs Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 5, 2018 at First United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Dr. Ben Gafford and Rev. Dr. Mark Johnston. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after the burial at the First United Methodist Church.
