Mr. Claude Phillip Odom, 96, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the McLeod Hospice House of the Pee Dee in Florence.
Born May 31, 1922 in Marlboro County he was a son of the late Henry Baxter and Elsie McEwin Odom. Mr. Claude was a 1940 Graduate of Fletcher Memorial High School and was a member of Bruton’s Fork Baptist Church. Mr. Claude was an expert Electrician and a HVAC professional. He was a loving father, enjoyed fishing, singing in his church, telling stories to his family and friends. He loved and was dedicated to his church.
Surviving are his children; Sylvia Brown (Durward), of Myrtle Beach, Cathy Landis (Jerry), of Blythewood, Donald Odom (Connie) of Florence, Wanda Allen of Florence, and Melinda Stanley of Florence; grandchildren, Bradl Odom (Elizabeth), Blake Odom (Veronica), Ramsey McBride (Phillip), Tyler Stanley, Daniel Gause (Kelly), Lea Gause, Jennifer Rodrigue (Tyler); and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents listed above; Step-Mother, Susie Odom; brothers, H.B. Odom, Jr. and Russell Lee Odom.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Bruton’s Fork Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
A visitation will be held from 2 until 3 p.m. just prior to the service at the church.
