Mrs. Elizabeth Radford Thompson, age 89, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2019 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC after a brief illness.
Mrs. Elizabeth was born July 22, 1930 in Bennettsville to the late Sam J. and Annie Cope Radford. She retired from Marley Electric as an inspector. Mrs. Elizabeth enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to gospel music and attending church at Smyrna UMC when she was able. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially the grandkids.
Mrs. Elizabeth leaves behind to cherish her memory, son, Charles Benjamin Thompson, Jr. (Judy) of Camden, SC; a daughter, Patricia “Pat” Thompson Starnes (Jerry) of Bennettsville, SC; sisters, Doris Harris of Satellite Beach, Fla. and Louise McClendon of Cheraw, SC.; grandchildren, Charles Benjamin Thompson, III (Brandy), Ronnie McElveen, Becky Thompson Dabney (David), Lee McElveen (Carol) and Gwen Thompson; 8 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents listed above, husband, Charles “Chuck” Benjamin Thompson, Sr.; brother, Tillman Radford and a grandson, Michael Douglas Thompson.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Burroughs Funeral Home with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Burroughs Funeral Home.
