Jasper “J.M.” Monroe Driggers, 80, passed away Friday, July 21, 2017 at his residence.
Born December 31, 1936 in Blenheim, SC, he was a son of the late Ellerbe and Ira Lee Jones Driggers. He was a retired inventory manager with Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, where he was a former MYF Leader and was on the Building Committee for the new Sanctuary at the church. He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, gardening, camping and especially loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by: his wife, Jean Mudd Driggers; daughters, Pat D. Altman (Robert) of Bennettsville and Linda D. Griggs (Glenn) of Bennettsville; brother, Eddie Driggers of Summerville; sisters, Faye D. Nolan of Bennettsville and Judy Dubberly of Fernandina Beach, Fl; grandchildren, Bill Altman, Patrick Altman (Colby), Carl Keating, Jr, Dee Keating, Angie Keating, Amy Coleman, Tina Locklear, Junior Haithcock (Ashleigh); great-grandchildren, Robert, Emma, Hailey, Josh, Chris, Austin, Dylan, Michael, Cutler, Logan, Lindsay and Trece; great great-grandchild, Noah.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karen D. Haithcock; brother, Billy Driggers; sister, Ruth Worrell.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Christ United Methodist Church, with burial to follow at Hebron Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Burroughs Funeral Home.
