Linda Stevens McDaniel, died Wednesday afternoon, November 29, 2017 at her home. She was 75 years old.
Born July 20, 1942 in Loris, she was the daughter of the late James Thelbert and Gladys Cox Stevens. She was a graduate of McColl High School, and had been employed with Security Federal. Mrs. McDaniel was a member of the Bruton Fork Baptist Church. She enjoyed painting, crafts, fishing and going to the beach.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas Allen McDaniel; three daughters, Melanie Alexson (Andy) and Pamela Grant( Keith) both of Bennettsville, and Stephanie Grooms, (Ken) of Wallace; her son, Steven Allen McDaniel (Kim) of Bennettsville; her sister, Margaret Hathaway of Raeford, NC; her brother, James Douglas Stevens (Bernice) of Swansea, SC; her stepbrother, Glenn Gentry of North Augusta, SC thirteen grandchildren, Christina Farris( Mikie), April McDonald (Hamp), Savannah McDaniel, Carolina English, Steven McDaniel, Jr., John Andrew Alexson, Jr., Heather N. Alexson, Timothy McDuffie, Robert McDuffie, Jr., (Robin), Jessica McDuffie, Amber Kempor (Victor), Jordan Grooms and Abbie Grooms; seven great-grandchildren, Matthew McDuffie, Allie McDuffie, Sydney McDuffie, Dahlia Farris, Roan Farris, Ember Farris, and Brantley McDonald, and a special great-granddaughter, Susanna Powers.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McDaniel was preceded in death by her stepfather, Rufus Gentry
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, December 1, 2017, at Burroughs Funeral Home, Rev. Rick Foreman, and Rev. Billy Storms officiating, with burial at Rogers cemetery in McColl. The visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Elbert McDaniel, Jr., Daniel Prevatte, Danny Stevens, Michael Stevens, Lewis Brown, and Chris Quick.
