David “Buddy” Glenn Grier, Jr. age 61, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.

Born November 23, 1958 in Bennettsville, David was a son to the late David Glenn and Jean Quick Grier. He was a Maintenance Supervisor with E-Z Products in Cheraw and attended Fletchers Chapel in McColl. David was a “Rock & Roller” and sports fanatic. He loved playing his guitar, riding motorcycles, and supporting the Gamecocks, Boston Celtics, L.A. Dodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Most of all, he was a family man.

He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory, wife, Marlene Ludwig Grier of the home; daughters, Amanda Grier Sweatt (Charles) of McColl, Kelly Day of Bennettsville, Kristin Ryan (Jerry Erwin) of Bennettsville; brother, Ray Grier (Susan) of McColl; sisters, Pam Grier Hatcher (Jerry) of Fort Mill, Karen Grier Dorman (Bryan) of Goose Creek; grandchildren, Griffin Norris, Destiny Day, Carter Norris, Lake Day, Mason Norris, Grier Norris, Lily Erwin, Zeth Sweatt, Myla Sweatt; and great grandchild, Arralyn Norris.

David was preceded in death by his parents listed above; infant daughter, Jennifer Leigh Grier; and grandchild, Parker Brennan Norris. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Rogers Cemetery.

The family will briefly greet friends and relatives after the service at the cemetery, and later at the residence of Ray Grier, 105 E. McLaurin Ave. McColl, SC 29570.
