Obituary

James Lynn Rich, age 74, of McColl passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, after an illness.

James was born in Marlboro County, a son of the late Henry Blease and Susie Quick Rich. He worked most of his life as a welder in construction. He retired from POPS USA after years of service. James was a former owner of the Meat Center in Bennettsville. He was a good man, and a friend to many. James would give you the shirt off his back. He lived life to the fullest. James loved motorcycles and riding in poker runs. His pride and joy was his motorcycle “Bubba.”

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Blease Rich, Jr.; and a sister, Joanne R. Sessoms.

James is survived by his sisters, Louise R. Williams (Dave) of Oklahoma, Susan Rich Driggers of Wallace, and Patricia R. Polston of Bennettsville; a special niece, Donna Knight of Bennettsville; a special friend, Jenny Chavis Jacobs of McColl; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

A family led memorial service will take place at a later date.
