James Lamar Freeman, 87, of Bennettsville, SC passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at his residence after an extended illness.
Lamar was born September 25, 1933 in Blenheim, SC, a son of the late Roy Franklin Freeman and the late Annie Mae Parker Freeman. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and was active in the church, as long as his health permitted. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Lamar retired from Pepsi Cola of Bennettsville with over 30 years of dedicated service. He was a little league baseball coach and simply enjoyed people. He was an avid golfer and his spare time, he could always be found on a golf course somewhere.
Lamar was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Annie Mae Freeman; a son, James Larry Freeman and a brother, William Roy Freeman.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Eunice “Bonnie” Crowley Freeman of Bennettsville; a niece, Myra; a nephew, Billy; and other beloved family members and friends.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, May 14, 2021 at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.
