Loretta Jackson Meggs, 57, of Bennettsville, SC passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at McLeod Hospice House. She was born April 21, 1964 in Bennettsville, SC a daughter of the late Johnnie C. Jackson and the late Mamie Hayes Jackson. Loretta was a member of Kingdom Life Church. Ms. Meggs enjoyed crafting, old movies and singing. She especially loved to take care of children, praying for everyone she knew and just helping others in any way possible.
She is survived by her sisters, Betty Usher (Woodrow) of Bennettsville, Mary Polson (Randy) of Cheraw, Abigail Jackson of Bennettsville and Ruthie Jackson of Bennettsville; special brother, Danny Ray Plumb (Rhonda) of Surfside Beach, SC; special sister, Frances Edwards (Buddy) of Wallace, SC; nieces and nephews, Tammy Adney (Richard) of Oak Island, NC, Rhonda Gray, Bryan Hatcher and Jonathan Pearce all of Bennettsville, SC, Shaina Thompson (Gene) of Wadesboro, NC, Devin Polson of Summerville, SC, Susan Baylor (Chris) of Cheraw, SC, Becky Peacock of Blenheim, SC, Kay Creel (Bonnie) of Bennettsville, SC, Kim Jones (Darrell) of Mt. olive, NC, Deona Kirk (Jonathan) of Lutherville, MD and Samantha Plumb of Surfside Beach, SC; and great nieces and nephews, Taylor Whitt, Jaycee Gray, Ava Gray, Sophia Gray, Hannah Gray (Matthew), Allison Berry (Allen), Easton Pearce and Kaizley Pearce, all of Bennettsville, SC; Tanner Moore, Hunter Lanier, Mackenzee Morrison, Tristan Adney, all of Oak Island, NC; Logan Thompson and Presley Thompson of Wadesboro, NC; Aaron Creel, Morgan Creel, Evan Creel and Sadie Creel, all of Bennettsville, SC; Lucas Rill of Surfside Beach, SC; Lincoln Kirk, Rockland Kirk and Kingston Kirk, all of Maryland.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Burroughs Funeral Home.
