Mrs. Mildred Bullard Deese Barnes, 78, passed away Monday, March 9, 2020 at her residence after an illness.
Mrs. Mildred was born in Robeson County on July 23, 1941 to the late Brazley and Vernie Barton Bullard. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Bennettsville. She was a retired sewing machine operator for Emerson. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, baking, sewing, and spending time with her family.
She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory; husband, James Bracy Barnes; sons, Neal Archie Deese, Jr. (Judy) of Hamlet, NC, Kenneth Deese (Margaret) of Charleston, SC, and Danny Deese (Chaya) of Arizona; daughter, Debra Allard (Chuck) of Forest City, NC; sister, Emma Wallace; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents listed above; 1st husband, Neal Archie Deese, Sr.
A funeral service will be held 3 pm Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Burroughs Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Thomas Buck and Rev. Ricky Poteat, with burial in Rogers Cemetery in McColl. A visitation will be held from 6-8 Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the funeral home.
