Mollie McGirt Petty Wiggins, 81, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021, at her home after a brief illness.
Born September 16, 1939, in Maxton, NC, she was a daughter of the late Sparks Cooper and Janie McGirt Hunt. Mrs. Mollie had retired from Essex Wire and United Technologies in Bennettsville. She attended Kingdom Life World Outreach and enjoyed caring for her family and spending time with them. She also enjoyed watching Westerns and the Golden Girls.
She is survived by her son, Robert Petty (Cindy) of Christiansburg, VA; daughters, Patricia Steen and Loretta Diaz (Antonio); sisters, Mary Herndon and Marilyn Locklear; grandchildren, Jason, Aulona, Terry, Jamie, Ronnie, Chad, Brad and Marleigh; and 14 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Mollie was preceded in death by her parents listed above; husband, Logon Wiggins; daughters, Toni Caldwell and Venus McDowell; and brother, Richard Hunt.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Burroughs Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Pee Dee Chapel in Dillon County.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home just prior to the service.
